UWC (University of the Western Cape) put out a tender to enhance
the delivery of their existing content. Focus on user experience and increased interaction was key for both students, alumni and faculties.
We decided to look at the navigation in hopes of simplifying the design of their landing page. This mean’t plotting four typical user scenarios and assessing the challenges of each. This user journey approach lead to identifying what number of clicks lead to frequently visited ‘user-related’ information. Say a report page of a past paper, or commenting on open discussions around student events and housing.
Our research was elementary in prioriting the four scenarios we applied to both faculty and alumni site visitors. What we created in the end was a landing page constructed around these 3 user cases and their unique journey, from both mobile and desktop.
